In wastewater management our technicians use CCTV, or “Closed Circuit Television”. CCTV refers to a system using a specialized camera inserted into sewer lines to visually inspect the interior of pipes. This method allows technicians to identify issues like cracks, blockages, root intrusion, or other damage without the need for extensive excavation. The use of CCTV provides us a detailed view of the pipe’s condition and helps us pinpoint problem areas.
A small, waterproof camera is mounted on a cable and inserted into the sewer line. The camera transmits live video footage to a monitor where our operators can analyze the pipe’s condition. Using CCTV allows Gulf Coast Underground Operators to inspect pipe utilizing a trenchless method which is non-invasive, accurately identifies problem areas, and enables proactive preventative maintenance. By detecting potential issues before they become major problems, we save time, money, and unplanned outages.
Using CCTV, we can detect clogs, cracks, root intrusion, pipe offsets, corrosion and damaged joints in your pipe systems. Without a camera system, it can be difficult to determine how and where damage has occurred. With these inspection cameras, we can pinpoint the issues. Using this data, we can work with you to design, build, and repair or rehabilitate your underground sewer pipe.
