Minimum Job Description:

  • Work effectively with supervisors and all members of the crew to ensure successful inspections, cleaning, repairs, and rehabilitation of sanitary and storm sewer collection systems.
  • Load materials and equipment into vehicles for transportation to and from the job site.
  • Repair pipelines (Mains and Laterals) using trenchless technology.
  • Perform all work task required to support execution of sewer maintenance.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions accurately to learn company’s products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use.

Job Requirements:

** Work will be in the Gainesville/North Florida area. However, occasional travel may be required**

Must possess a VALID & CURRENT driver’s license (do not apply if you don’t meet this requirement)
Ability to work out of town/state five (5) days a week (no exceptions)
Ability to work 50-55 hours a week
Ability to work outdoors in any and all-weather conditions
Willing to work around confined spaces and municipal sewer systems

Equipment Operator

Experience required. Must have 2-5 years of experience with underground utilities & heavy equipment

Under the supervision of a foreman/lead, the Excavator Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery such as a forklift, backhoes, excavators, dozers, skid steer loaders, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, etc to move earth, rocks and debris on construction sites. The Operator is responsible for lay-outs, fine grading, and completing finishing application and hoisting. Additionally, the operator ensures the equipment is well maintained and operating efficiently.

Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for Lay-Outs

  • Sets-up and uses a rotating laser to ensure a level grade
  • Sets-up and uses slope laser to ensure a sloping grade

Responsible for Fine Grade:

  • Maintains production with fine grade operation such as placement of rock trucks
  • Ensures proper grade is obtained
  • Determines equipment needed as well as rate of delivery for rock

Completes Trenching & Pit Excavations

  • Controls and maintains lay-out lines during excavation
  • Maintains OSHA standards with benching and slopes during and after operation
  • Determines what type of lay-back or bench is needed for safe working conditions by type of soils
  • Determines a percentage of spoils to remain for backfill if using on-site materials and places in a manner that is free from wet conditions
  • Determines how many spoil trucks will be needed for a continuous flow without trucks stacking up or equipment sitting idle
  • Determines what type of equipment is needed

Completes Finishing Applications & Hoisting

  • Determines what type of equipment is needed to produce the required compaction
  • Exercises the proper method of backfilling in lifts (ex: keep lifts level and consistent for proper compaction)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent: MINIMUM three (3) years of related experience and/or training
  • Required to travel weekly
  • Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crotch, balance, climb or crawl
  • Ability to maintain balance

Liner Technician- Manufacturing

GCU currently has openings in our main office for warehouse positions. These technicians will work Monday-Friday starting at 7 A.M (weekends/overtime as needed), must be able to stand/walk for an extended amount of time and perform the following job duties:

  • Technician installs the vacuum cups on liner and repositions as the liner moves down the conveyor
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
  • Possess good mathematical skills and be able to mark the footage on liner
  • Determine that the correct size liner is being used for the project
  • Patches holes when moving vacuum cups
  • Keeps liner from being damaged while coming off pallets and load unto a refrigerated truck

Technician must heed to all safety protocols and be aware of their surroundings. Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with shared responsibilities and resources.
