    Blountstown I&I Project

    Blountstown, FL

Gulf Coast Underground, LLC (GCU) performed comprehensive trenchless rehabilitation services for the City of Blountstown as part of a multi-scope I&I reduction project. GCU conducted cleaning and PACP-certified CCTV inspection on 36,045 linear feet of existing gravity sewer mainlines, followed by the installation of 36,045 linear feet of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining across multiple pipe diameters ranging from 6” to 12”. These efforts restored structural integrity to the aging system, eliminated infiltration points, and extended the useful life of critical infrastructure assets.

The scope also included 436 vertical feet of manhole rehabilitation using a structural spray-applied liner system and the removal of 265 deteriorated manhole steps. GCU coordinated and executed 2” asphalt paving and base repair on both local roads and Florida SR 20, incorporating 138 SY of 8″ base and 20 SY of 36″ base repairs. Additional work included the installation of two new manholes and the execution of dewatering and bypass pumping operations to maintain system flow during construction.

Crews worked within both residential and high-traffic zones, requiring detailed maintenance of traffic (MOT) coordination and active communication with city staff. MOT was developed and implemented to ensure continuous public access and safety throughout all phases of work, with regular updates provided to local agencies. Final deliverables were submitted in GIS-ready format, including PACP data, as-builts, and restoration maps. The successful completion of this multi-discipline project showcases GCU’s ability to deliver high- quality trenchless solutions while ensuring minimal disruption, public safety, and regulatory compliance. The City of Blountstown benefitted from a well-executed rehabilitation effort that now supports long-term system reliability and performance across key service areas. The project also demonstrated GCU’s strength in coordinating multi-scope rehabilitation activities in constrained corridors. Lessons learned from this job are now part of GCU’s continuous improvement and QA/QC programs.
