GCU, LLC completed the Mobile Battleship Storm Drain Repairs project for the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama. This project focused on restoring storm drain infrastructure at a high-profile historic site, requiring trenchless rehabilitation methods that minimized disruption while delivering long-term structural improvements. The scope included 310 linear feet of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation and CCTV inspection to confirm conditions and verify installation quality.
The work involved storm sewer cleaning, trenchless CIPP lining, and structural repairs to storm drain boxes. These services restored hydraulic function, eliminated infiltration, and extended the service life of the system. All work was coordinated with Volkert, Inc. and park management to ensure the rehabilitation was completed safely and with minimal disturbance to public areas.
Because of the site’s historic significance and active visitor traffic, project execution required careful planning and control. GCU implemented protective work zones and traffic management measures to maintain accessibility while preserving the grounds. Trenchless methods were selected to avoid open-cut excavation and reduce impacts to the memorial park.
The successful completion of this project highlights GCU’s ability to deliver stormwater rehabilitation in sensitive, high-profile environments. By combining CIPP lining, cleaning, and box repairs with thorough CCTV verification, GCU provided the Battleship Memorial Park with reliable storm drainage improvements that support long-term site preservation and system performance.
